2018 Rist Vineyard Chardonnay

Five years after our last Sonoma County Chardonnay, the '13 Keefer Ranch, we're back with the 2018 Rist Vineyard Chardonnay from Dry Creek Valley. Most often associated with top Zinfandels, there are pockets and sub-climates within the appellation which are great opportunities to grow other wines like Chardonnay. The vineyard used to be heavily cropped and sold to a large winery for a large, commercial program. Now the vineyard is being farmed organically, yields are low and quality is rising. We're thrilled to be along for the ride to test the potential of this wonderful vineyard.

While the definition of "natural" winemaking is somewhat ambiguous, this wine clearly fits within that description. This fruit is organically farmed and the wine underwent native fermentation, native malolactic caonversion, low sulfur, and concrete and neutral barrel aging. The wine was unfiltered and unfined. Vegan.
