2021 Suacci Vineyard Pinot Noir

Our final vintage of Suacci is bittersweet.

Thanks to the attention to detail in his vineyard, the convivial John Suacci grew us some remarkably beautiful clusters of small 'hand grenade' clusters of Pinot Noir. We were able to get intense flavors while maintaining the classic Suacci juicy acidity even with the extended hang time at this cool hillside tucked away deep in the rolling hills of Blucher Valley.

However, we also lost John to an illness last year and we will certainly miss him. With his sardonic wit, he was always good for a joke - very needed at 3 am during harvest or at dawn when checking the vineyard. I'll treasure the moments. Grazie, signor.

"Bright aromas of raspberry, strawberry and lemon peel jump from the glass on the nose of this Pinot. The palate brings in a savory edge with flavors of roasted mushroom, black plum, chocolate malt, Darjeeling and clove in a framework of rich tannin balanced by juicy raspberry-lemon acidity."
